Sulphur Crested Cockatoo

Sometimes it's great living in the outer suburbs. A half a kilometer away are kangaroos and the river out the back has a colony of platypus living in it. Today in my front garden was a cocky, having a drink at the bird bath. There were a flock of about 50 the other morning. I always find it strange that Americans pay such a fortune for these birds that are so common here that we take no notice of them.

I love our native birds and still get a thrill to see one up close.

I have some beautiful cockatoo charms for sale at http://www.etsy.com/shop/Kikiburrabeads

Wire Wrapping

Looking through my draw of stones the other day I found that I had a box of faceted briolettes, the only reason I have never used them before is I have never know how to wire wrap them correctly. Right I thought to myself enough is enough, it is time that I taught myself. Where to start? I began by looking through my beading magazines but they were of little or no help. So I jumped online and googled. I found the most amazing site giving me full instructions, easy as could be.

Now that I was inspired I found my wire and set to work. As a result I have a new line of items that will be available in my store on Friday. I must have created dozens of new designs, I just have to find enough hours in the day to create all that I have planned. Please check my store daily as I begin the process of uploading my new pieces.

New Friends And Great Bargains

As I love to do on the weekend I went shopping. There is nothing more that I love than finding that one true bargain. Having finished my shopping I decided to have a look around, I was luck enough to come across the most wonderful bead shop. It was like I had stepped into heaven. Every single bead that one could imagine was contained in this one shop.
I was luck enough to find some dyed red dolomite. This was perfect for me to finish a special necklace for my new friend Jane who lives in Malta. She had ordered my Dyed Red Coral earring from my site a few weeks ago, jane loved them so much that she ordered a matching necklace, based on another design I have using red crackle beads.

I absolutly adore making one of a kind pieces for people because I know that they will never see themselves anywhere else.

Having been to the store I came back with so many ideas for new pieces. As it is going to be over 30 degrees tomorrow I think I will spend the morning creating some wonderful new designs.

This being the case many of my favorite bracelets, earrings and necklaces are now discontinued, if there is anything you have watched for a long time you may be in luck as most have been reduced greatly.
