Bridal set

I have just seen the most amazing freshwater pearl set at alwaysabridesmade's etsy shop. They are only $100, such good value for money. I personally love freshwater pearls, they are so classic and I love to wear my set with summer frocks. They are a must for any girl's wardrobe.

Gemset Jewellery

I love to work with real gems, it's amazing that nature can create such wonderfuls colours and textures just from a few different minerals. My other etsy shop, kikiburravictoriana, now has my gemstone range. I had to move it to this shop as I had run out of categories on kikiburrabeads. Millie, from Australia, saw the tourmaline pieces I had already listed and commissioned me to make her a 5 foot long necklace by wire wrapping three individual micro faceted rondelles. I wondered what it would look like, but the client is always right! She was- it looked wonderful. Here's what she said;
Hi Kristen,
Just received the necklace and it is stunning !! I love it. I can't believe how beautiful it turned out and it is exactly what I wanted. I can't thank you enough. Your jewellery is beautiful and I will keep an eye on your shop and I'm sure I'll be in touch again with another request ! With my many thanks for your time and for making such a beautiful piece. Rest assured it will be treasured and worn often.
warm regards, Millie
I love to make custom pieces. By the way, have you visited my other etsy shop at alwaysabridesmade?

Alice in Wonderland

I have always loved Alice in Wonderland, and the new movie has inspired me to make some new pieces. A gorgeous pewter teapot charm has a handmade lampwork bead at its centre. I have embellished this with a bright silver tassell. A cute pink tea cup charm pendant is tiny enough for Alice to sup on and the Queen of Hearts pendant will be sure to appeal to the Alice fan.
Be my first follower and purchase from this line to get 10% off your purchase (before postage). Just leave a message to seller and I will refund to your paypal account.
This is a limited line so please be quick to snap up these lieces.

New Gem Range

I love working with real gems to create unique pieces of jewellery. Each stone is so different from the other and you never know what you will find when you look deeply into them. At the moment my favourite piece is a rainbow tourmaline necklace, created with beautiful micro faceted beads. I love custom orders to make something just for someone to call their own.

Easter range coming soon
I can't believe there have been Easter eggs in our supermarket since New Year. Last year, at our bead show, I purchased some cute little ducks and rabbits to make into jewellery. Have a look at my etsy shop in the next days to see these. I am keeping the price to rock bottom, but the quality will still be of the highest standard.

Sulphur Crested Cockatoo

Sometimes it's great living in the outer suburbs. A half a kilometer away are kangaroos and the river out the back has a colony of platypus living in it. Today in my front garden was a cocky, having a drink at the bird bath. There were a flock of about 50 the other morning. I always find it strange that Americans pay such a fortune for these birds that are so common here that we take no notice of them.
I love our native birds and still get a thrill to see one up close.
I have some beautiful cockatoo charms for sale at http://www.etsy.com/shop/Kikiburrabeads

Wire Wrapping
Looking through my draw of stones the other day I found that I had a box of faceted briolettes, the only reason I have never used them before is I have never know how to wire wrap them correctly. Right I thought to myself enough is enough, it is time that I taught myself. Where to start? I began by looking through my beading magazines but they were of little or no help. So I jumped online and googled. I found the most amazing site giving me full instructions, easy as could be.
Now that I was inspired I found my wire and set to work. As a result I have a new line of items that will be available in my store on Friday. I must have created dozens of new designs, I just have to find enough hours in the day to create all that I have planned. Please check my store daily as I begin the process of uploading my new pieces.

New Friends And Great Bargains

As I love to do on the weekend I went shopping. There is nothing more that I love than finding that one true bargain. Having finished my shopping I decided to have a look around, I was luck enough to come across the most wonderful bead shop. It was like I had stepped into heaven. Every single bead that one could imagine was contained in this one shop.
I was luck enough to find some dyed red dolomite. This was perfect for me to finish a special necklace for my new friend Jane who lives in Malta. She had ordered my Dyed Red Coral earring from my site a few weeks ago, jane loved them so much that she ordered a matching necklace, based on another design I have using red crackle beads.
I absolutly adore making one of a kind pieces for people because I know that they will never see themselves anywhere else.
Having been to the store I came back with so many ideas for new pieces. As it is going to be over 30 degrees tomorrow I think I will spend the morning creating some wonderful new designs.
This being the case many of my favorite bracelets, earrings and necklaces are now discontinued, if there is anything you have watched for a long time you may be in luck as most have been reduced greatly.

Tree of Life for SIDS

I was emailed the other day by a wonderful lady by the name of Maggie. She is starting a non profit foundation to honor her daughter who died. Maggie has started a blog to help raise money for the Sids foundation. She has ordered my multi gem tree of life pendant to assist with a fund raiser for families who have lost infants to Sids.
